My journey into the world of photography started at the age of six with

a firecracker and a bottle. Ever since then I’ve been seeing with monocular vision … just like a camera does. I was born in the ‘50’s in Staten Island, New York, one of nine children.

Perhaps it was the need to prove that I could see as well as, or better than, everyone else that led me to explore photography.

I excelled at the School of Visual Arts and was offered a one-man show at the prestigious Camera Club of New York, established by Alfred Stieglitz in 1884 as the first gallery dedicated to photography as an art form. Other doors opened up for me while still in school. My thesis instructor, James Moore, offered me a position as his assistant, thus introducing me to the world of fashion where I’ve enjoyed 40 years of photographing…
